THE MILLS FARM
Mills Farm a faith based non-denominational organization uses working with horses and horse related activities to foster and enhance the physical, behavioral, emotional, mental and spiritual development and well being, of children and adults. Horses are such magnificent creatures and conduits of positive energy and transformation; their presence alone is a powerful healing force for our clients. This healing is extended even further through our directed use of therapy with horses. Our programs are carefully structured to suit the individual goals and needs of the participants; and are designed using proven techniques and methodologies.

The students involved will learn basic horseback riding and horsemanship skills. In addition, they will receive the following benefits:

  • A sense of personal achievement
  • Increased self-esteem, self confidence, physical well being and body image
  • Improved motivational levels, sense of responsibility, and ability to follow directions
  • Improved appropriate social skills, including managing their own behavior, positive peer support, respect for self and others, and appropriate ways of setting boundaries

    • We provide a caring, supportive and safe environment for our students to learn AND HAVE FUN!! ! !

RIDING LESSONS

We’re very excited about our new riding ring that will allow us to teach all year around. Rose Mills, the director and owner, is the certified instructor. We offer riding lessons for beginners and intermediate level from ages four to adult. For the more challenging children and adults we teach some basic jumping.

HORSE SAFETY LEVEL I

Children love our beginner Horse Safety Program. They enjoy grooming the horses, learning the different body parts, and best of all, riding the horses. This program is great for children who have never been around horses and are maybe contemplating taking lessons.

HORSES SAFETY LEVEL II

Children who have completed our Horse Safety Level I program can go on to take the Level II. In our Level II program children can ride without someone leading them, if the instructor sees fit. They learn some different things pertaining to horses on a more advanced level. This is a super class for serious horse lovers and riders.
